Lower Back Pain
Spinal manipulation (chiropractic adjustment) is an excellent non-drug first line option with proven benefits for acute low back pain, which comprises 80-90% of all incidents of lower back pain. Spinal manipulation is not only effective, but the benefits are also long –lasting.
To treat chronic lower back pain, we recommend active core rehabilitation and exercise therapy, spinal manipulation, muscle therapy, spinal decompression, postural education and other modalities. These services are provided at our chiropractic clinic and may be part of your comprehensive treatment plan.
Whyte Avenue Chiropractic offers a variety of treatment options for neck pain. These options include: manipulation, mobilization, cold laser therapy, spinal decompression, Impulse or Arthrostim instrument adjustment, education, exercise and muscle release therapy. Depending on your preferences and needs, we will suggest an individualized treatment plan.
What About Neck Adjustments?
Some patients have personal preferences regarding neck adjustments, thus our chiropractic clinic offers alternatives. We do try to inform people that a 2015 International Task Force comprised of Canadian and American Medical Spine and neck experts concluded that mobilization and manipulation are safe and effective interventions for the management of neck pain.
Whyte Avenue Chiropractic respects our patient’s choice regarding neck adjustments. We offer non-forceful therapeutic alternatives when they are indicated or requested. Patients may choose low force instrument (Neuromechanical Impulse, Arthrostim, or Activator) manipulation of the neck as an effective alternative to manual neck rotation.
